Hello, let's start from the beginning, shall we?

Hey, I'm Gingerbag

Introduction & Context

You might know me as @davopi.bsky.social on Bluesky or on most of my socials, maybe even @cups9.bsky.social if you follow my gaming content/streams. Well, I also go by another name, Gingerbag.

You might ask, "why Gingerbag?" and to that I say, I don't really know. A year ago, I was thinking of what my independent label would be if I wrote songs or if I was an artist. A few months later, I picked it as my pen name for all of my songs in the future, in order to not fully expose my full name.

I believe when I first came up with the idea for the name, my mum and I were discussing about the topic and what my name should be. I can't really remember much, but I remember that one of us picked the name "Gingerbag". Even if I don't know who came up with it at that time, I still chose this name to honour my mum who helped me get through life's largest obstacles.

I remember I was originally going to write an album/EP named "Mama's Karinderya" (Mum's Eatery/Carinderia) but I scrapped that later on. I wonder if I could still make that next year.

What can you expect from here?

In this publication, you can expect the following:

• Small bits of analysis for the different songs I've written and released

• Previews of unreleased songs

• Statements regarding the background of specific songs

Why Leaflet?

I wanted to try to make a publication here on Leaflet for a few reasons.

• I've already tested their features and moved multiple publications such as Plutoscape and Hotcuppa from a different platform.

• Despite not knowing all the nuances of ATProto, I am an advocate for the open social movement, which helps power many apps such as Bluesky and obviously, Leaflet.

• Leaflet is cool :)

How often will you post?

I may just post out of the blue when I feel like writing or giving some background as to some of the songs I've written so far. There's definitely a few favourites of mine, so I'll write about some of them on this publication. :)

Where can I listen to your music?

You can listen to my music on the following platforms.

• YouTube + YouTube Music - music videos, visualisers, community posts

• Spotify, Apple Music, and most mainstream music platforms

• Soundcloud - demos, snippets, and other things that don't really fit on YT or YTM

I'm open to releasing music here on ATProto solutions for music distribution, but I haven't decided on which platform I will release the music on. If the opportunity comes by, I'll be sure to consider it!

I haven't fully taken the dip to distribute anything to something like Bandcamp, but when I have the time and energy to, I'll try to get something on there too.
